Permashield® Tire Sealant is an advanced, non-toxic solution created by expert chemists with over 80 years of combined experience. It uses high-quality polymers and proprietary ingredients, including:
The formulation includes many ingredients commonly found in food and household products, ensuring safety and performance.
Permashield® stands out with:
Advanced Polymer Technology – Seals punctures quickly and reliably, even in extreme conditions.
All-Weather Performance – Operates from -40°C to 65°C, ideal for both cold and hot climates.
Eco-Friendly & Easy to Clean – Non-toxic, non-combustible, and water-soluble with no harmful residues.
Extended Tire Life – Lasts up to 4 years or ~ 110,000 km, reducing tire replacements and downtime.
TPMS Compatible – Works seamlessly with modern tire pressure monitoring systems.
Versatile Applications – Suitable for passenger vehicles, commercial trucks, off-road vehicles, vocational vehicles, and industry specific equipment in agriculture, construction, forestry, mining, recycling, & waste management.
Quick Installation & Removal – Easy to install and remove, maintaining tire integrity and casing credit eligibility.
Yes. In a case where a screw has caused a puncture, the sealant will form a protective coating around the threads. The tire will continue to perform as normal with the screw inside, permanently sealed. Most drivers will never even realize they ran over a nail or screw because their tire will not lose air pressure.
Other objects, such as a scrap piece of angle iron, nails, and u-shaped fencing nails, that have found their way into vehicle tires have all been successfully repaired by Permashield®. In the case of the fencing nail, the item was pushed out of the tire as the product found its way to the tire's exterior and permanently sealed the double injury.
The piece of angle iron was removed by a technician and the tire injury sealed immediately.
Construction nails, like screws, can remain in the tire or can be removed by a technician.
The Permashield® Tire Sealant has been extensively tested and is certified to -45°C without freezing. It also remains stable and effective at temperatures up to 65°C . Prior to installation, the product should be stored in sealed containers at temperatures between 10 - 27°C.
By maintaining optimal tire pressure and reducing rolling resistance, Permashield® minimizes fuel consumption. Preventing under-inflation can significantly reduce excess fuel usage and GHG emissions.
Permashield® can assist with hydrodynamic balancing by repositioning itself inside the tire at highway speeds. However, it is not designed to fix severe imbalances caused by flat spots, manufacturing defects, or damaged wheels.
Not directly. Permashield® Tire Sealant primarily protects the tire tread area where most punctures occur. However, by helping to maintain proper tire pressure, Permashield® helps prevent the most common cause of sidewall failures - underinflation. While small amounts of product may reach the sidewalls, any tire with sidewall damage should be replaced immediately, as sidewall repairs are not DOT or National Safety Code approved and are unsafe for all types vehicles.
The Permashield® Light Duty dosage ensures that is safe to install with all major tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) and will maintain or improve tire balance and ride characteristics in both slow and high speed driving conditions.
The Permashield® Heavy Duty dosage is a higher dosage designed specifically for vehicles built to operate with higher pressure tires (over 40 PSI).
Installation is done through the tire stem on already mounted tires. The product can also be installed directly inside the tire prior to mounting on the rim.
Detailed installation instructions, with video, will be shared on this site soon.
Yes. Permashield® Tire Sealant is non-toxic, non-combustible, water-soluble, and easily cleaned up. Removal from a tire will have no adverse effect on the tire itself.
Permashield® is not classified as hazardous under OSHA standards. However, prolonged or repeated skin contact may cause irritation or dryness. Contact with eyes may result in temporary irritation or redness. Ensure proper ventilation when handling and use chemical-resistant gloves and goggles for large-scale handling.
In case of eye contact, flush with water for at least 15 minutes. For skin contact, wash thoroughly with water and remove contaminated clothing. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.
Vehicle owners, fleets, and drivers benefit from reduced tire replacement frequency, lower fuel consumption, minimized emergency roadside assistance costs, lower maintenance expenditures, and decreased vehicle downtime.
Your tires last longer, fuel costs go down, more time spent driving, and less time (and money) spent waiting for a tow truck on avoidable repairs.
Permashield® supports sustainability by helping customers reduce fuel consumption and lower Scope 3 emissions through optimized tire performance. Additionally, our product packaging is recyclable, and we are continuously exploring ways to improve the environmental profile of our operations and supply chain.
Yes. Permashield® use in commercial trucking tires does not impact eligibility for casing credits.
Yes. The water-soluble formula can be easily removed for retreading.
Permashield® helps truckers and fleets comply with key Canadian and North American regulations by improving tire performance, safety, and sustainability:
Transport Canada – NSC Standard 11A & 11B: Supports inspections by maintaining tire pressure, preventing punctures, and reducing wear.
Transport Canada – Clean Fuel Regulations: Reduces rolling resistance, lowering fuel consumption and CO2 emissions to meet GHG targets.
DOT – FMCSR (§393.75, §396.3): Prevents pressure loss, ensuring tires meet minimum pressure and safety standards during inspections.
Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA): Enhances fuel efficiency and emission reductions, helping fleets meet reporting and sustainability requirements.
These features help fleets meet safety, environmental, and operational standards across jurisdictions.
